Dear Steve and Pauline:

We have now had Kobe for six months and thought that we should write to you to give you an update.  Kobe has exceeded all expectations!  First of all, he is tall and big boned with a very large head.  At sixteen months, he weighs ninety five pounds. He is lean and muscular and has the classic "Dobe" look.  I had been looking at Dobes and had seen the thin types that are quite common these days.  To me, the Doberman looks better slightly on the larger size.  While being good size, he has all the grace and moves of a smaller dog.  He is impressive physically.

Mentally, the dog is very sound.  He is good with the kids.  He enjoys children and is relaxed around young kids and women.  He listens well.  You can talk to him and he understands what is expected of him.  He is very sure of himself around people and other dogs.  He is protective, but understands that not everything is a threat and acts accordingly.  He assumed responsibility of the house and property about 72 hours after he had arrived.  He is not aggressive toward other people; however, he is very observant and takes control over most situations.  He is so impressive physically that most people would just as well keep their distance.

Most of all, he is very loving.  He fits into his role of a family member quickly and easily.  He learned his position in the pack almost immediately.  He is bright, quick to learn, and willing to please.  He will accept strangers in the house as soon as he is told that everything is OK.

Kobe has passed all of the test that we have given him with flying colors.  We hope that he will be with us for a long time.

Thanks again.

Sincerely,

Fred and Lynn Jenkins

(Ashley and Sarah Jenkins too.)
